The biggest question for a matric student is: “What am I going to do after school? “ – there are so many options! Do I go directly into searching for a job? Do I go study? What should I study? Should I get a job and study part time? It is a very confusing and stressful time in a young persons life. After all, it is a decision that will directly affect the rest of their lives.

This is why more and more students are considering some type of Gap Year. A year to either rest, take time to reflect and think or to look at different options in life. This might be a great plan, however, we believe we have a better option. What if we offered you a year where highly trained and passionate individuals go on a journey beside you, helping you to become the person you know you can be. A year spent building your character, helping you to discover who you are in Christ and imparting hope, purpose and faith into your life.

Two of the most frequently asked questions in life are “Who am I really?” and “What was I born for?” Imagine having those answers before choosing a direction for the rest of your life. It could make quite a difference, can’t it?

This is what we propose:

Build into your identity – become someone who says I know who I am.

Build into your destiny – become someone who knows where they are heading and why.

Build into you character – become someone who has the strength to face the challenges that life will still throw at you.

Build into your humility – become someone who is willing to serve others and reveal Christ’s love and heart to all those around.

It has been proven that a gap year like this brings clarity and life skills that give you an edge over the students that have not been involved in such a year. It has also been proven that such students perform better in further studies, decision making and improves their emotional intelligence.

Many students who join university directly after school end up changing their study direction, as they are unclear of who they are, what they want to do and where they are going with their lives. It’s quite simple, if you have an idea of who you are and what you were born for before you take your next step, it is clearly the wisest decision you can make. Think about it, a year like this is the way to launch you into the life you were born to live.
