By Pastor Robert Morris

Pastor Robert Morris, from Gateway Church in the USA, carefully illustrates the significance of the application of the blood that was placed on the doorposts of the homes of the Israelites at the time of Passover, by God’s instruction.

He describes how the blood of the sacrificial lamb would have been applied to each vertical section of the doorpost, the left and right sides, as well as to the upper horizontal doorpost, the mantel.

As the blood of the lamb would have dripped down from the doorposts, one would have been able to observe four places where the blood was present – the two sides, the top and the bottom.

Pastor Morris suggests thinking about Christ on the Cross, when considering the pattern of the blood on the doorposts. The four locations of the blood represented His two pierced hands, His feet and His head with a crown of thorns.

With emotion in his voice and tears in his eyes, Pastor Morris urges, “I want you to understand that if you’ll give your life to Jesus, that the blood of Christ will stand at your doorstep, and the destroyer cannot come into your house.”
