The Devon Valley Hotel in Stellenbosch is the most beautiful venue, set amidst the mountains and the vineyards. Their facilities accommodate weddings, functions, business retreats, vacations, delicious hotel dining, and a memorable stay at their 4-star hotel.

On the 22nd April 2017, my wonderful Fiancé, Tyler, and I got married. Many brides will attest to the fact that planning a wedding can be a little daunting. Problems arise that you could never foresee, the weather is unpredictable, guests cancel on the day, and many other issues that could potentially stress a bride out, which result in the all-too-joked-about Bridezilla!

Planning my wedding however was an absolute BREEZE, as I worked with the most loyal and outstanding vendors from start to finish. I was unsure of the venue that I wanted for my special day, knowing that the venue is one of the biggest decisions of the entire wedding! My husband and I went to countless wedding expos and venues, but our hearts were not set until we visited the Devon Valley Hotel.

WOW. As we drove into the farm we were surrounded by endless vineyards, gorgeous mountains, and a very well-kept garden and venue. Immediately I knew that we had found a gem. We walked around the farm admiring the open lawns (envisioning where we would have the ceremony), looking at the almost mystical walking trails (scouting already for photo opportunities), and looking at the vintage-styled luxurious accommodation (planning where to get ready on the day and where to spend our first evening as a married couple). We knew that we were sold on the venue, but wanted to see where we would have our wedding reception, as we needed to know whether the venue could accommodate all our wedding guests. We sat down with the manager of Devon Valley and shared a coffee, where we discussed all of our plans. He was such a warm-hearted and friendly man, and he helped us through the process from start-to-finish.

Little did I know that Devon Valley was owned by the same company that owns JC Le Roux, the gorgeous and elegant Sparkling Wine Farm next door. The arrangement was that I would get ready at Devon Valley, have my wedding ceremony at their beautiful farm, take all of my wedding photos in the breathtaking vineyards, and then pop across to JC Le Roux for the wedding reception. My guests were escorted there by complimentary shuttles, courtesy of Devon Valley, and were treated with a sparkling wine and canape pairing whilst Tyler and I were taking our photos.

The venue was absolutely unbelievable, with a modern flair in their design. I did not need to have an exorbitant décor budget, as the venue was fully kitted out chandeliers, art, and the works! If anyone has ever been to JC Le Roux for a sparkling wine tasting you will know how unbelievable the venue is! The venue comfortably accommodated 110 guests with a large dancefloor.

From Devon Valley to JC Le Roux, the staff were absolutely phenomenal! The wedding was in the peak of our drought season, yet the ground staff made sure that the lawns and gardens were keep in perfect condition, the walls were all painted, wheelchair ramps were built to assist Tyler’s granny, and constantly throughout the day I was keep updated and in contact with the manager’s assistant, who bent over backwards to accommodate all of my ridiculous requests, including getting my bridesmaids’ dresses and gowns steamed in the laundry room, getting gifts delivered to various hotel rooms where my husband and his groomsmen got ready, and hourly updates on how everything was going, while us girls were getting our hair and makeup done. I was blown away by the staff’s kindness and willingness to help in all areas.

From the bottom of my heart, a huge heartfelt THANK YOU to the wonderful venue and staff, which altogether resulted in the most magnificent wedding. This was an unforgettable experience and I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue, a function hall, a romantic getaway, or simply for a day out in the Stellenbosch winelands.

Situated on SylvanVale Wine Estate and nestled amongst eight hectares of its own vineyards in the heart of Devon Valley (only 6 km from historic Stellenbosch, the hotel commands breathtaking views over the Cape Winelands and the Helderberg Mountains); only 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and 40 minutes via the N2 to Cape Town city centre, ensures access to other points of interest.
