Question: Can You Tell Me Anything About A ‘Handfasting Wedding Ceremony’? My Fiancé Wants To Do This At Our Wedding, But I Feel Uneasy About It.
Answer: Handfastings are commonly used in Wiccan and Pagan occult ceremonies. Some couples practice it during wedding ceremonies. They bind their hands together during the ceremony (before, during, or after reciting their vows) to symbolise their connection and devotion to one another. Personally, I wouldn’t touch it because of its pagan roots. The Bible says, “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you” – 2 Corinthians 6:17. We never need to borrow anything from demonic rites. I rather recommend couples kneel together and commit their lives to the Lord and each other.
