Woman = Purpose, Power, And Potential

– by Jennifer Emedi

“Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him” – Genesis 2:18-20

With everything good that God had made, there was still no perfection. There was no completion for Adam and that was an imperfection. None of the animals were fit to be Adam’s helper for the simple reason that his helper, his co ruler and co dominator, had to have the ability. None of the animals were purposed helpers, so none of them had the ability designed for that purpose. This shows us that ability is designed for purpose. The only place where God could find that ability was inside of Adam, who was created in His image.

When God created Adam, He duplicated himself in human form, so when He needed a helper for Adam, someone with ability, power, and the potential to be a ruler with Adam, it made sense that this person should come out of Adam, because everything that God needed Adam to do was already inside of him. When God took the woman out of Adam, she was able, powerful, and had the potential to be everything that God and Adam desired her to be. Let’s just say she was fully equipped for her purpose, which was only established when Adam saw her. Adam named his wife according to her purpose. Yes, he saw a beautiful woman, but Eve was so much more than that. What Adam saw needed a declaration of purpose. What he saw before him was beauty with a purpose, and this purpose needed definition by declaration. So he named what he saw, woman. He called the purpose, power, and potential to help him woman.
