God’s Desire For 2018
– by Ps Lillian Van Der Westhuizen
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
A New year dawns on us! New beginnings, New dreams and vision will be birthed in this year, and we as God’s children can and will have a blessed year! With this in mind, we can do one thing . . . Seek God daily and fervently! In reading 2 Chronicles 7:14, two words were dropped into my heart, humble and seek. If we are not going to seek and humble ourselves, God is not going to heal our land. Now your land can be your marriage, your children, sickness, financial lack, depression, etc., and our actual land, South Africa!
When we are weak with God, temptation is strong, but when we strong and rooted in God, temptation is weak! How do we seek God in 2018? Through studying the Scriptures on ‘seeking’, I would like to inspire you with 2 Scriptures of ‘seeking Him’. Psalm 9:10 says, “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” What a powerful promise that when we seek Him, He will not forsake us. Psalm 34:10 says, “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” What is a good thing? A blessed marriage, children who serve God, prosperity, peace, strength, and to be directed through the Holy Spirit into our purpose and plan for our lives. A Good Thing is in Seeking God, He will withhold nothing from us! The more I seek the Lord, the more I will find Him.
