Make Every Second Count

Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is (Ephesians 5:15-17).

Have you ever found yourself thinking or saying, “If only I had more time, I would pray more, study more, serve more, catch up with more friends, go on a long walk and do so much more”? It seems as though we spend the time we do have wishing that we had more time to be doing anything other than what we are doing right then and there!

So often, we miss the moment we are in, the opportunities that we have and even the time that we have because we are so busy wishing our time away. The truth is that we each have twenty-four hours every day, the exact amount of time we need to fulfill our purpose and destiny. The issue is not whether we have enough time; it is whether or not we are doing enough with the time we have.

If we choose to eliminate the things that are wasting our time and replace them with those things we wish we had time to do, we would discover that we actually can accomplish a lot more than we thought possible. Let’s make every second count!
