Remarkably, both the ANC and DA are embroiled in a leadership crisis. President Jacob Zuma has 48 hours to resign and Cape Town Executive Mayor, Patricia De Lille faces a no confidence vote.
The ANC is finding it increasingly difficult to remove President Jacob Zuma from power. Mr Zuma is fighting tooth and nail to remain in office to avoid several criminal prosecutions.
Opposition parties in Parliament have forced the ANC’s hand by demanding a 9th motion of no confidence in Zuma followed by a dissolution of Parliament and early General Elections.
Most media outlets deceptively blame Zuma only for the staggering rates of corruption, maladministration and theft that brought South Africa to the brink of economic collapse.
However, despite Mr Zuma’s criminal actions, the ANC protected, defended and empowered him. In reality, Mr Zuma’s corruption-ridden presidency would not be possible without the collusion of the ruling party. Many ANC officials are complicit in the gross mismanagement of South Africa.
State owned enterprises like Eskom, SAA, PRASA and the SABC have all been run into the ground by ANC appointees. And ANC cabinet ministers have protected these people as well.
Jacob Zuma and other ANC officials repeatedly bragged, “The ANC will rule until Jesus returns.” The Bible’s response to their arrogance is found in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
It appears the Democratic Alliance (DA) led Western Cape Province and City of Cape Town is doing its best to worsen the water crisis in the region by provoking the judgement of God.
In the midst of the worst drought in 80 years and while the Church is calling the city to repentance and prayer, the DA is funding and participating in a “pride parade” in Cape Town.
DA members are encouraged to join the pro-homosexual “pride parade” on 3 March wearing official “DA LGBTI t-shirts.” How the DA reconciles its governing mandate of the city with its open support and endorsement of a sinful lifestyle has not been adequately explained.
The official opposition made a conscious decision to promote the high-risk lifestyle of a tiny minority in direct conflict with the deeply held Biblical convictions of Christian citizens.
The Bible’s warnings are clear in Isaiah 3:8-9, “For Jerusalem stumbled, And Judah is fallen, Because their tongue and their doings Are against the Lord To provoke the eyes of His glory. The look on their countenance witnesses against them, And they parade their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.”
The ANC, and to a lesser extent, the DA are reaping the bitter harvest of their arrogance and rejection of God’s moral laws. The Body of Christ will do good to take heed of this folly.
The good news is; God will judge the wicked but watch over His people. Isaiah 3:10 says, “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.”
Keep praying, keep believing and keep sowing seeds of righteousness. God is faithful.
