There is a powerful prophetic revelation in Matthew 28. The disciples had been asking Jesus why He was not going to deliver them from the terrible rulership of the Romans. They were looking for a natural outcome when in actual fact what was awaiting them in the spirit was far greater. Jesus had commanded them to go and wait in Jerusalem, and they would be endowed with power from on high. Little did they realise that this power would light up the world and bring deliverance to billions of people for centuries to come. “Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, all authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:18.
The spiritual power that Jesus sent to His Church is activated through prayer and intercession. We, through prayer, change governments and nations. The Bible clearly tells us that God directs leaders to do whatever He wishes them to do. We have to do what we have been empowered to do and we will see our nation changed.
The future of our nation is on the lips of a praying church. It is therefore our individual responsibility to take hands with all believers and pray down the will and power of God over our nation.
