Pierre Oosthuizen – May JOY! Article

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me . . . For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” – Matthew 11:29-30. In 2016, SoAM did four crusades in South Africa and one in Swaziland. We had just started and were learning the ropes. A few days before each of the 1st four Crusades, I wanted to cancel everything. My faith was being tested to breaking point – and money just wasn’t coming in! Thirty years earlier as a young pastor in Carletonville, I had known plenty hardship. But pastoring is different. Church folks care about you and help, and there’s always another offering next Sunday. Crusades work is different. It’s expensive and runs on deadlines.
Suppliers (saved or not) don’t want to hear about you trusting Jesus, they want their money. I felt as if I used every ounce of faith I had to make it work, and was barely succeeding. The yoke breaker came through a prophesy at a KCM Pastors meeting: “Don’t focus on your needs, focus on the purpose.” I had been totally focused on getting the crusade needs met, desperately believing for enough to balance the budget on time. If my team added anything extra to the budget I’d be upset. But I now understand that if I focus on His purpose to be established, He will supply all that is required for Him to accomplish it! In everything, pray for His purposes to be established. His purpose is His yoke – and it’s light!
