Grant & Theunisina Neyt – June JOY! Article
– by Grant & Theunisina Neyt
In Act 22 and Acts 26 we see Apostle Paul using his personal testimony to defend his faith. Paul did not debate Scripture, law, or even Jewish customs. He just shared what Christ had done and was doing in his life. Our personal testimonies are made up of three parts; before I met Christ, how I met Christ, and what Christ is doing in my life now. The temptation is to concentrate on what happened before we met Christ; what we were, how bad we were, and what we did. The question however is; does that bring glory to God?
What really brings glory to God, is that God in His mercy would allow us to have an encounter with Him (how I got born-again) and how God continues to work, change, empower, and bless us. Our past may be important but our encounter with Christ and our walk with Him is more important. My challenge to you today is to share your testimony with someone, with the intent to bring them to Christ. In your sharing, make sure that your personal encounter with Him and your walk with Him are emphasised.
